Created in 1979, Action Against Hunger is an international non-governmental organization that fights against hunger in the world. Its charter of humanitarian principles - independence, neutrality, non-discrimination, free and direct access to victims, professionalism, transparency - has been the foundation of its identity for over 40 years. Its mission is to save lives by eliminating hunger through the prevention, detection, and treatment of malnutrition, especially during and after emergency situations related to conflicts and natural disasters. Action Against Hunger coordinates its programs around 5 areas of activity: Nutrition and Health - Mental Health, Psychosocial Support and Protection - Food Security and Livelihoods - Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene - Advocacy. In 2021, Action Against Hunger helped over 25 million people in 46 countries around the world.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Field Coordinator, you are responsible for the coherence and qualitative implementation of the nutrition and health projects of the Drodro base, and therefore for the project cycle management of activities, from conception to implementation and reporting. More specifically, you are in charge of:

  • Leading, implementing and supervising nutrition/health projects activities
  • Managing, supervising, training ACF teams, and developing their skills. You will have the opportunity to work with a young, multicultural, and qualified team.
  • Developing and participating in the nutrition/health strategy and writing new interventions
  • Representing ACF and developing local partnerships
  • Ensuring internal reporting and scheduled deadlines, as well as the functionality of accountability mechanisms, fraud prevention, and SEA cases.
Qualifications

ou have a medical/paramedical degree or equivalent BAC +3 (nurse, doctor, midwife, Master in public health), with at least 2 years of experience in project management/project cycle in Nutrition & Health (planning, project monitoring, budget management, and donor reporting) in the humanitarian field, in complex contexts. You have a mastery of PCIMA and primary health care including reproductive health. You have experience in management and capacity building of your teams and demonstrate autonomy and initiative. With excellent interpersonal skills, you demonstrate rigor, adaptability, and responsiveness. Essential assets to strengthen our community commitments. You are able to live and work in an isolated and volatile context with strong security pressures. Experience with ACF and/or in CAR or DRC would also be desirable.

Terms of Employment

For international candidates:

  • 8 months of fixed-term contract under French law
  • Monthly gross starting salary from 2130 to 2475 EUR depending on experience
  • Monthly per diem and living expenses: 874 USD (cf eurocost) net, paid in the field.
  • Monthly context allowance: 450EUR
  • Child allowance: 1500EUR per year per child present in the home country (maximum of 6000EUR/year)
  • 16% of monthly gross salary for retirement insurance reimbursement for non-French citizens.
  • Transport and accommodation: Coverage of travel and collective housing
  • Medical Coverage: 100% coverage of health contributions (CFE + complementary health) and repatriation insurance
  • Leave and RnR: 25 days per year, 20 RTT per year, and 215EUR paid during the recovery period

For national candidates:

  • Remuneration: Monthly gross salary between 1785 and 1932 EUR
  • Transport allowances (depending on the distance between residence and workplace)
  • Installation allowance (if worker is relocated)
