Food for Development (FfD) is the unit that coordinates and makes available the group’s extensive knowledge and experience in school feeding and nutrition programmes linked to agricultural and dairy development programmes that we have gathered over the years.
We support our customers and work in collaboration with governments, NGOs, UN and International Development Agencies to develop and implement school milk and school feeding programmes linked local agricultural development. More than 57,400 smallholder farmers involved in our Dairy Hub projects have delivered milk to our customers. Meanwhile, 61 million children in 41 countries receive milk or other nutritious beverages in Tetra Pak packages in schools.
The preferred position location is Nairobi but other host locations will also be taken into consideration. You will work in a global arena and will travel approximately 50% of your time.
As our new Dairy Development Project Manager, you will:
- Execute technical assistance missions supporting our on-going Dairy Hub projects by providing practical training to smallholder farmers, Extension Service Officers, capacity building, monitor implementation, verify data collection, ensure that the Dairy Hub process in place, interview with customer supply chain personnel, quality inspection.
- Support Tetra Pak Market Operations to manage new Dairy Hub projects in developing countries. Organise and implement Dairy Hub projects that conform to best practices used worldwide. Demonstrate qualitative impact data improvement linked to our projects, smallholder farm productivity improvement, and local value chain development.
- Prepare detailed documentation that presents technical assistance mission findings, project results, and recommendations to our customers and relevant stakeholders.
- Provide training and capacity building to our customers’ personnel and extension services. Conduct assessments of analysis of the milk quality, volume, pricing analysis, and propose improvement solutions for our customers.
- Work closely with our sister company DeLaval to ensure their involvement in our Dairy Hub projects and their business development opportunities are captured.
- Drive project management and implementation for all Dairy Hub projects using our process and tools.
We believe that you have a University Degree in Agriculture, Animal Science and Nutrition or related fields and at least 5 years practical experience within dairy farming and development work. You executed assessments of ongoing and newly implemented dairy development projects, put forth recommendations to improve, provide training, coordinate with all stakeholders to execute the recommended process. A good understanding of dairy farm management, milk procurement process and how dairy development models are used and applied in various countries.
As a person have a strong passion for hands-on training, lots of creative ideas, a lot of energy, a strong drive for results and the ability to deliver on time. An excellent command of English, both oral and written is required.
