IDinsight is hiring an Associate Product Manager with 0-2 years of product experience & less than 4 years of cumulative experience to support our software development capabilities. In this role, the APM will work with IDinsight product and software development teams while working with clients and IDinsight project teams to define software solutions that ensure high-quality project delivery.
In this role, the successful candidate will frequently take part in developer team stand ups and sprint planning meetings. Some potential initiatives they might support include building a data system aimed at getting high-quality socio-economic data to policymakers, engaging with clients to understand user needs for a machine learning solution that improves a client's on-the-ground operations, or working closely with IDinsight senior leadership and client development leads to define how we communicate our service offerings to potential clients.

We are seeking candidates with a background in engineering, data science, product & research who are looking to transition into a product management role. The ideal candidate should have passion for building solutions to difficult social problems.
As an APM, the day-to-day work may include:
- Participating in team meetings and removing blockers for IDinsight developer teams
- Assisting in sprint planning and retrospectives
- Creating and managing project work plans and budgets
- Communicating with IDinsight project teams and clients on software planning and execution
- Reviewing team deliverables for quality control
Technical qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- 0-2 years of product experience & less than 4 years of cumulative experience to support our software development capabilities.
- Experience working with software development teams.
- Experience using agile principles and tools.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle and related concepts such as version control, testing, and continuous integration/deployment.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English. Fluency in languages spoken in countries where IDinsight works is a plus, particularly Hindi or French.

Preferred qualifications:
The most competitive applicants will satisfy one or more of the following requirements:
- Advanced degree, preferably in Computer science, Engineering, Business, Public policy, Economics.
- Previous experience in Product development/management. You have supported the shipping of at least one product that has delivered meaningful results.
- Writing user and developer-facing documentation for software projects.
- Familiarity with software systems architecture.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure using a hosting service like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Familiarity with user research methodologies.
- Strong project management skills including the ability to translate user requirements into actionable user stories.
